Royal Health Screening is a health initiative run by Abbey House Medical Centre. Patients of Abbey House, and other patients by referral, can now avail of a variety of medical check ups. Our Health Checks are designed for men and women of all ages.

Royal Screening – Executive Health Check

The Executive Health Check is a comprehensive medical examination and screening service designed around the health risks and needs of adults in today’s society.

Executive Health Check is designed for both men and women of all ages and is specifically suitable for clients who may not have been to their GP for some time or who feel they would benefit from a full medical check up.

The “Executive Health Check” consultation will take approximately 2 hours during which time clients will complete a medical and lifestyle questionnaire, undergo a full physical examination with a doctor and receive medical laboratory screening for a variety of medical conditions.

Results and explanation of the entire screening process are supplied directly to the client, having been reviewed by the doctor prior to the report being sent. Areas of concern are highlighted and areas within ‘normal’ range for the client are also made evident.

The Executive Health Check includes:

Lifestyle questionnaire and review
Family history assessment
Full physical examination
Blood pressure
Prostate examination (male only)
Breast examination (female only)
Audiology (hearing) examination
Eye sight testing
Spirometry (lung function) tests
ECG – Electro Cardiograph (heart tracing)
Comprehensive laboratory testing (bloods & urine)
Full written report including health assessment, cardiac risk assessment, and doctor’s observations, recommendations and advice

Royal Screening – Women’s Health Check

The Women’s Health Check is a screening and examination service specifically focusing on women’s health issues. Women’s Health concentrates on the areas of wellbeing unique to women and provides a comprehensive health screening and medical examination in these areas.

The Women’s Health Check includes:

Risk assessment for specific Women’s Health issues
Comprehensive womens’ health questionnaire and review, including Menstruation, fertility, Menopause, Incontinence and Osteoporosis
Physical examination, including breast check
Cervical smear test
Laboratory testing (blood & urine) in areas relevant to womens’ health including full hormonal profile.
Full written report including health assessment, and doctor’s observations, recommendations and advice

Cardiac Risk Assessment

The Cardiac Risk Assessment is an optional extra that may be added to the Women’s Health Check. This assessment is designed to complement the Women’s Health Check by including an ECG and screening for any potential cardiac issues.

The Cardiac Risk Assessment includes:

Extended family history assessment (to include cardiac issues)
Cardiac examination
ECG – Electro Cardiograph (heart tracing)
Cholesterol tests
Diabetic tests
Full written report including health assessment, cardiac risk assessment and doctor’s observations, recommendations and advice

Full Cardiac Risk Assessment is included in the Executive Health Check.

Examinations and Screening tests

Examinations and screening tests for all Royal Screening health checks are performed by qualified nurses and doctors. All patients will be examined by a doctor during their consultation. Reports and advice are prepared and approved by the doctor in question prior to being returned to the patient.

Executive Health Check (Male or Female): € 295.00

Womens’ Health Check: € 175.00

Cardiac Risk Assessment: €50.00
